After several days of safari in the Serengeti National Park, we were looking forward to a relaxing week at the beach. In this regard, the Urua Bay really is the best choice. The beach promenade is out of stone, so you can drive along with a wheelchair. To the sandy beach there is a steep ramp. As my wheelchair wheels don’t tolerate sand, I preferred to swim in the large swimming pool. There are stairs into the water. The bungalows are furnished like little apartments. Six of them have wide doors and a stepless shower. The management just ordered a new beach wheelchair and shower chairs for Zanzibar. Our suggestions to the rooms and the facility were also very welcome.

The only downer is the sometimes poor service: Orders are forgotten or incorrectly placed, not considered special requests. The management promised improvements. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay to the fullest, also because of the really great trip to a spice farm and to Stone Town.
