Natalia Vindas is a passionate wheelchair traveller. She has been working for a travel agency in Costa Rica and loves to promote accessible activities in her country. Since 2021 she has become an Ambassador for Wheelchair traveller. Below our interview with her.

Why are you passionate to promote accessible travel?

I am passionate to promote accessible travel because I am a wheelchair user due to a spinal cord injury I got in 2008. I love to travel and I believe people with disabilities can and should travel more often. Traveling expands and challenges people’s comfort zone, gives new perspectives, ideas, feelings… it is good for mental health.

I also love to experience and share with other the beauty Costa Rica, my country has to offer to everyone.

What is your offer and what has been your experience so far?

I am part of the team of Il Viaggio Travel, the only award-winning travel agency in Costa Rica that has experience working in accessible tourism in Costa Rica. I am also a traveller and a lover of my country. I constantly look for different activities that can be accessible, to share with our clients and friends.

How do you think we can motivate more wheelchair travellers to go to places less travelled?

I think we can motivate more wheelchair travellers to go to places less travelled by showing its accessibility and letting people decide.
